FAQs

Find answers to some of our frequently asked questions about our work, how we’re run and managing your support for the Bethlehem Care and Hospice Trust.

Are you a registered charity?

Yes, the Bethlehem Care & Hospice Trust is a registered charity in England and Wales (1158406), Scotland (SC048752)
and the Republic of Ireland (20206049).

Are you a religious charity?

Bethlehem Care and Hospice Trust was established within the Catholic Diocese of Hallam, Sheffield. The ethos of the Trust is Catholic. The services it will provide in Bethlehem will be open to all.

How much of your expenditure goes on fundraising?

We have no professional fundraisers and no agents. We may occasionally run an advertising campaign in the media. We have no significant overheads. Practically all money donated is available to support the objects of the Charity.

How can I be sure my donation is going where it’s needed?

The need for these facilities is well documented, well known and the Care situation for the Bethlehem elderly has been described as a CRISIS.

Donations are received into British Bank accounts in the name of the Trust and expenditure will only be made in support of the objects as overseen by the Charity Commission in England and Wales and the Scottish Charity Regulator. The Charity provides an annual return to Charity Commissioners detailing moneys received and expended.

Are my donations secure?

Yes, our main donation form is powered by GIVE. Alternatively donations are taken through trusted donation websites like JustGiving, Paypal and you can also donate securely via your mobile phone through Donr.

What happens when you've raised enough money?

We will be fortunate indeed to raise enough money. When we raise sufficient money to begin providing services to the elderly and to the terminally ill we will do so. We will continue to raise funds to support the running costs of these Care facilities.

Can I Gift Aid my donations?

Yes you can.

A GiftAid declaration is also incorporated in the Donation Form which can be downloaded from our website.

How do I send a cheque?

Simply make your cheque payable to ‘Bethlehem Care and Hospice Trust’ and post it to our Treasurer, Graham Smith, at 3 Birchitt Close, Bradway, Sheffield, S17 4QJ. If you wish to GiftAid your donation please complete the Donation Form which can be downloaded from our website and send it with your cheque.
