About our charity
Welcome to the Bethlehem Care and Hospice Trust, where compassion and support converge to make a profound difference in the lives of individuals and families facing challenging times.
In Bethlehem, a significant challenge for many is the lack of suitable resources when facing life limiting illnesses. At this crucial stage, when comfort and dignity become paramount, people often find themselves with limited options and nowhere to turn.

Bethlehem’s healthcare system is underdeveloped and healthcare delivery is patchy. And whilst family networks are strong in Bethlehem, without palliative support, they are unable to help or comfort their loved ones.During a visit to Bethlehem in 2010, a group of individuals who are now Trustees witnessed the deprivation and struggles faced by many people in the community. Inspired by their firsthand experience, subsequent visits further highlighted the ongoing challenges that locals endured. Recognising the lack of available resources, the trustees initially set up a charity provision to to establish centres to support both local men and women. However, as time went on, the pressing need for hospice care became apparent. In 2018, the Bethlehem Care and Hospice Trust was established with the primary focus of providing much-needed hospice care within the community.
We have since established a dedicated hospice at home care service to provide personalised care and support to people in the comfort of their own homes. By providing hospice care at home, we strive to create a warm, nurturing atmosphere that fosters a sense of familiarity and peace during this challenging time.
We believe that every person, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves to be treated with compassion and provided with the highest quality of care. Join us in making a difference. Whether through donating, fundraising, or simply spreading awareness about the invaluable work we do, your support can help bring comfort, peace, and hope to those in need. Together, we can provide a sanctuary of care and compassion, fostering strength and resilience in the face of life’s greatest challenges.
