Recently, our Founder and President, Joe McNally, was invited to speak on Sheffield Live Radio’s Deserted Ireland Disks, a programme that celebrates Irish heritage, personal journeys, and the stories that shape a life.
Joe’s first appearance on the show focused on his own remarkable journey. He spoke openly about growing up in Ireland, his move to the UK, and the experiences that shaped his early life. Listeners heard about his career as a police officer, his time living in Birmingham, and the story of meeting his wife, Philomena – moments that laid the foundations for the values that continue to guide him today.
Following the warm response to this interview, Joe was invited back to the programme to discuss the history and work of the Bethlehem Care and Hospice Trust. During this second conversation, he shared how the Trust was founded, its mission to support compassionate care, and the vital work it continues to do today. Joe also spoke about the importance of community, dignity, and hope – principles at the heart of everything the Trust stands for.
We are grateful to Sheffield Live Radio and the Deserted Ireland Disks team for providing a platform to share both Joe’s personal story and the work of the Bethlehem Care and Hospice Trust. These conversations help raise awareness of our mission and the values that continue to inspire our work.
