Bethlehem Care and Hospice Trust is proud to announce a remarkable milestone: our dedicated hospice-at-home nursing team has now completed their 4,000th patient visit. As the only organisation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories providing palliative care, this achievement reflects the compassion, resilience, and unwavering commitment of our nurses, who provide vital care to families during their most vulnerable moments.
Providing end-of-life care in Bethlehem is becoming increasingly challenging. Our nurses carry out their work against a backdrop of ongoing tension and instability, where daily life is often disrupted. They regularly navigate checkpoints, movement restrictions, limited access routes, and sudden changes in the local situation – all of which make each visit far more difficult and time-consuming than it should be.
Despite these realities, our team remains deeply committed to their patients. They continue to travel across Bethlehem to deliver essential medical care, emotional support, and comfort to those who rely on them. For many families, our nurses provide the only available hospice care, ensuring that patients can spend their final days with dignity, safety, and compassion, even in the midst of uncertainty.
This milestone would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of our supporters and donors. Your contributions directly fund our nurses, medical supplies, transport, and training – all crucial to keeping this service operating in such challenging conditions. Every donation truly makes a difference: each one helps enable another visit, another moment of comfort, another family supported.
As we mark this milestone, we remain committed to expanding our reach and serving even more families in need.
Thank you to everyone who stands with us and supports this essential work. Together, we continue to bring compassion and dignity to the people of Bethlehem.
