We Celebrate a Record-Breaking Success at the 2025 Hallam Bethlehem Charity Ball

The Bethlehem Care and Hospice Trust is delighted to announce the outstanding success of the 2025 Hallam Bethlehem Charity Ball, where supporters came together for a memorable evening of generosity, celebration, and community spirit – raising over £12,000 to support at-home palliative care for families in Bethlehem.

Held at the Crown Plaza Royal Victoria hotel in Sheffield, the event brought together long-standing supporters, new friends, and local partners for an evening of exceptional food, live entertainment, and warm hospitality. After a superb dinner, guests danced late into the night to the Sheffield-based cover band performing free of charge – The Grand Plan, whose lively performance helped make the evening one to remember.

A Meaningful Opening to the Evening

The night began with a live video link to Fr Rami in Bethlehem, who addressed guests to thank them for their continued generosity. He spoke about the impact of the Trust’s work and the importance of supporting the team of dedicated nurses who provide in-home hospice care to patients and families living in some of the region’s most challenging circumstances.

Following this, Fr Gus O’Reilly Vice Chairman of the Trust addressed attendees in Sheffield, speaking about the ongoing need for financial support and the vital difference donations make. He highlighted how funds raised through events like the charity ball enable nurses to provide compassionate support, medical assistance, and dignity to those receiving end-of-life care at home.

Fundraising That Brought the Room Together

This year’s event marked the first-ever trial of a Givergy digital auction, which ran throughout the night and proved highly popular with guests. The introduction of the platform added extra excitement to the evening, with bidders engaging enthusiastically in support of the cause.

Alongside the auction, guests enjoyed a busy tombola and a raffle featuring a wide range of prizes generously donated by supporters and local businesses. The atmosphere remained lively and warm throughout, with guests eager to contribute in any way they could.

By the end of the night, the combined efforts of everyone involved helped raise over £12,000, a total that exceeded expectations and will directly support the Trust’s ongoing work in Bethlehem.

Gratitude and Hope Looking Forward

The Bethlehem Care and Hospice Trust extends heartfelt thanks to all who attended, volunteered, donated prizes, or supported the event behind the scenes. The Trust also expressed appreciation for the musicians, hosts, and organisers who helped create such an enjoyable and impactful evening.

The funds raised will enable the Trust to continue supporting the nurses who carry out at-home hospice care in Bethlehem—providing essential comfort, medical care, and emotional support in circumstances that are often extremely difficult.

The 2025 Hallam Bethlehem Charity Ball was not only a celebration, but a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when a community unites behind a meaningful cause. The Trust is already looking forward to next year’s event and to continuing its mission of supporting those who need it most.
