Sweet Success for Bethlehem’s Hospice

A heartwarming initiative by six young parishioners from Our Lady and St Thomas Parish in Sheffield has shown just how powerful a little compassion – and a lot of cake – can be.

Inspired to support end-of-life care in Bethlehem, Olivia Farragher brought together a team of enthusiastic bakers: her brother Jack, Grace Hambleton, Isabelle Hambleton, Harry Melleney, and Olivia Baxter. Together, this dynamic group planned and hosted a Bake Sale in the Parish Hall.

From advertising the event to organising contributions from fellow parishioners, the young team managed every detail with dedication and care. Their efforts paid off: the event was a tremendous success, raising an impressive £486 for Bethlehem’s Hospice.

The achievement caught the attention of their schools, and All Saints Catholic High School recognised the students’ generosity by awarding Thank You Certificates on behalf of the hospice trust. Inspired by their students, All Saints School has now officially adopted the charity, ensuring continued support for this vital cause.

This inspiring act of kindness shows how small hands can make a big difference. Well done to our young parish heroes!
